Insufficient or badly built drainage systems are the #1 cause for water underneath crawl spaces and septic failure. A quality drainage system will greatly enhance the longevity and functionality of your property investment.

Bay Shore Construction's drainage services offer the following and more:

  • Foundation Drains- Divert storm water away from your building's foundation.
  • Roof Drainpipes -Not connected to the foundation's drain system. Ideally these should convery water to the city's storm drain system, a drywell, swell, or water body.
  • Gutters -collect runoff from the building's roof.
  • Storm drain pipes -convey water to the city's drain system
  • Catch Basins - connected to storm drain pipes. They are concrete structures with metal grates on top. Their pupose is to catch debris that could clog pipes in a storm drain system.
  • Yard Inlets -Similar to catch basisns but smaller.
  • Trench drains -used to capture storm water flowing over a larger area, such as a driveway, and convery it to the city's drainage system.
  • French drains -similar to foundation drain systems. They can be installed anywhere on your property that collects water. French drains are constructed with a perforated pipe with a filter fabric around it, and gravel. French drains prevent accumulation of standing water and the problems that accompany it, such as mosquitoes.
  • Drywells are for areas thar cannot be connected to a storm water drainage system. Drywells are filled with gravel and lined with filter fabric. Excess water flows into the gravel, through the fabric, and into the soil.
  • Cleanouts are designed as easy access points for maintenance of the drainage system, usually located in a bend where debris is most likely to clog the system.

Utility trenching generally needs to be done prior to drainage work so the contractors can access them to complete each phase of the construction. Bay Shore Construction can trench for all utilities and lay additional conduit to provide for later installation of phone, cable, etc. So you won't have to do any digging in the future.
